For the Teacher
Overview of Grade K Earth Science, Engagement 1
A series of interactive screens provides students with opportunities to differentiate if weather statements are true or false, determine the weather from image observations, and identify appropriate attire for different types of weather. One at a time, students volunteer to guide the teacher by stating the answer to the question on the screen.
What You Need
The means to project this interactive for whole-class viewing
Advance Preparation
Plan a way to keep track of which students have already answered and which students are still eligible for a turn. Collectively, the screens include thirty dots with questions or activities, so each student should get at least one turn.
How to Facilitate
- Beginning with the screen following this one, project the engagement in the largest format possible for whole-class viewing.
- Go over expectations with students before beginning.
- Clicking on most text on the screen activates voice audio of the text. Or you may choose to do the reading aloud for students.
- Show and read all answer choices before students provide an answer.
- You can allow students to make multiple attempts for incorrect answers. Use the Check button to see if responses are correct. Use the Play On! button to move to the next item.
- After the interaction at each dot has been completed, a connector will connect to the next dot and you can continue.
